Auckland SEO Update: 6 14 2009

This weekend we have had an SEO Challenge in Auckland for the keyphrase: Auckland Internet Marketing Event. I’ve just come off stage to carry out the challenge and now I’m about to gett ready to back up again to do the Domaining session.

The SEO Challenge is looking good and we are again hoping to rank #1 in Google for this term.

Last IMC Challenge

30 March, 2009

The last #IMC challenge was set on Sunday to a group of 17 budding internet marketers. The challenge was to put everything that they had learnt over the past 9 months into action and use the resources and knowledge they had to build a new website to sell something… Anything.

A lot of the teams decided to use this challenge as an opportunity to help raise money for the #bushfire appeal.. Combined, our teams raised over $100 in under 5 hours to help with the appeal, which is fantastic and an amazing effort in the limited time and internet connection that they had.

One of the teams did a special offer on their wine, which took off like wild fire and they made an awesome $497.78 in the 5 hours they had.

It goes to show that making money online isn’t difficult and that you can do it quickly and easily when you put your mind to. The challenge showed many of our participants that they knew how to drive traffic to an offer using multiple traffic streams including, Social Media, Pay Per Click marketing, Blogging, SEO techniques and another couple of “secret” strategies they learnt on Sunday morning.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the challenge and well done on raising money for such a worthy cause ☺

Shaun Stenning Pink Dress

24 January, 2009

The Shaun Stenning Pink Dress challenge has launched today at the Sydney Internet Marketing Coaching day.  As we continue through the coaching program, the intensity of our coaching days increases.  Today I have asked our coaching clients to divide into groups and build a webpage that ranks number one of the keyword:

Shaun Stenning Pink Dress

To make the challenge a little bit harder I have asked that they do this without using their current website, without spending any money, without building a new website.  As part of the challenge there are 2 points of assessment:

1.    The Webpage that is ranking number 1 by midnight tonight will win a prize
2.    The Webpage that is ranking number 1 by 9pm Saturday 31st January 2009 will win a prize

It has been interesting to see people setting up user accounts on blogger, youtube, squidoo and UWCblog using the keyword Shaun Stenning Pink Dress.  I wish everyone participating in the challenge good luck and will keep my eye on the search results to see who will win.

28 November, 2008

It’s staff appreciation day here in our office in Bathurst (better known as a staff Christmas party. As part of the Christmas party we are heading to the movies to watch Baz Luhrmann’s Australia Movie.

So, with our Australian theme in mind I’ve decided to dress up as a great Aussie icon, the koala. As you can imagine it’s a bit of a sight, so we thought we’d have some fun with the it during the day. Here’s a quick video about Koala Marketing. Watch the video below now:

As you can see from this video we are targeting the keyword “Baz Luhrmann’s Australia Movie” with a few different strategies. So watch this space to see how we go.

And More Join In On The Internet Marketing Challenge

It’s now day 3 of the Internet Marketing Challenge and we have had 2 more teams join the challenge.  It’s great to see everyone getting involved and starting to test out some of the skills and techniques I have taught over the last few months.

Before I give you the results I just want to give you a few quick tips on how you can utilise this challenge to get the best learning outcome for YOU!

Know Your Outcome: At the live coaching day in Cairns I mentioned that before doing anything you need to know what your OUTCOME is.  Without being clear on what your outcome is you will not be able to achieve that outcome.  For example with this internet marketing challenge your outcome may be to be the number 1 team or your outcome may be to sell 10 books.  Set that OUTCOME and then use the tools and resources you have been taught to achieve that result.

Stick To Your Strengths: If you are a traffic trading client then you would know some of the best and little known techniques for generating and converting traffic.  So when partaking in a challenge you should use those skills and techniques.  If you’re a product client that is doing Joint Ventures then do that in this challenge.  Ensure that whatever you do, that you stick to your strengths.

Little Bits Each Day: Ensure that in the process of completing this Internet Marketing Challenge that you are doing little bits each day.  This will ensure that you have a consistent approach to achieving your desired outcome.

Now for the results:

As you can see from above 3 teams have now made a sale, and out of the 6 teams competing there are 12 different traffic generating strategies being completed.

Market Research Survey Live Examples

25 November, 2008

We are currently running a live market research survey about Internet Marketing, I wrote a post a few weeks ago about how to structure a Market Research Survey and how it was important to ensure that you included a few things:

1. Plant Questions – Questions designed to lead the reader to a conclusion that buying or investing in a product or service similar to the one that you are offering is a good idea.  In the survey that we are doing at the moment we have a few different plant questions.  One of the major questions is not only a plant question but also a buying indication question.  Have a quick look below at the question and that answer stats:

In case you can’t read it, the question is “If there existed a book that could show you how others have already achieved your answers to question 11, would you be open to hearing about it?” As you can see, the large majority of people said “Yes”

2. First Name, Last Name, Email Address – I suggested in the previous Market Research Survey post that you should always ask for the First Name, Last Name and Email Address of the respondents.  In doing this I said that the best place was to ask this at the very end of the survey.  In the survey results we have at the moment we have found that having these questions at the end of the survey results in more people filling it in.  In the current survey we are running we have not had 1 person not fill in these details or abandon the survey.

As we continue through the survey process I will provide some more stats and insights.
