Marketing Blogs You Must Read

25 February, 2009

I have been asked a lot lately about different marketing blogs and forums that I frequent. So here is a quick list of places that I frequent that you may also be interested in visiting:

V7N Forums

This Forum is my favourite place to go to learn about new techniques and strategies being used for Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).  This was one of the first places that I went to learn about SEO and I still find it a great place to hear about the latest PR or algorithm updates.

Noble Samurai

As you would know I am a big fan of the market samurai software and the creators of this software are the noble samurai team. They come up with some great blog posts regarding keyword research and how to use the market samurai platform better.

SeanSEO

Well I may be biased but I believe that Sean Rasmussen is the number 1 internet marketer in Australia and this is where he puts up all of his content regarding internet marketing. Not only that, it’s great to see the different strategies Sean is using and implementing on his blog.

Alister Cameron

Alister is an extremely good social media blogger, about 12 months ago he was blogging quite frequently on social media but lately that has reduced his number of posts. When he does blog they are gold and very much worth reading

I hope this helps, let me know the Marketing Blogs and other places you like to go and read and I’ll check them out.

Trading Update For The New Year

6 January, 2009

Matt and Steph have been going through trading results from the holidays this week and have noticed that a lot of people have submitted traffic trading results through our online form, but we haven’t received a completed checklist to go with each of the trades. Because it’s the new year and we’ve all had a bit of a break from trading we wanted to remind you of the trading rules, so I recommend taking a few moments to check out:

Rules For Doing Your Own Trades

and

A Friendly Reminder

You may remember that before the break I mentioned that if you were going to trade over Christmas and wanted us to do a trade review for you we would need to see a completed checklist for each trade.

Last year the majority of negative trades for the group were caused because an item on the checklist had not been checked off, so this year we won’t be doing any trade reviews for trades where the checklist has not been submitted via http://www.internetmarketingcoaching.com.au/coaching/traffic-trading. When you visit the checklist you’ll also notice that we’ve added a few more simple items to help make your trading even easier

Keep those checklists coming through :)

Market Samurai - Product Keyword Research

4 November, 2008

I have been looking for the perfect product keyword research tool now for a few years, there are a lot of great tools out there, but not really any tool that brings it all together.  Well nothing that brings it all together like Market Samurai.

In previous times I would go to Wordtracker and use it to gather estimated traffic stats as an indication as to what keyword I should do further research on.  The problem with this has been that wordtracker is really only of use to me for traffic stats, not the other stats that I need when doing product keyword research.

For example when doing product keyword research I want to know about:

1.    Amount Of Traffic – Obviously this is important, the numbers of people searching for the keywords is an indication of consumer demand

2.    Number Of Competitors – The amount of other websites competing for my keyword, this gives me an indication of how difficult my potential keyword is to achieve number 1 position on search engines

3.    Amount Of Backlinks – Again this shows how difficult my potential competitor is going to be to beat

4.    SEO Rank – In days gone past this would have been just indicated by Page Rank but now with google

Market Samurai Free Trial

constantly updating it’s index it’s more than this.  Again this shows how difficult my potential competitor is going to be to beat

These are just a few things that I am looking for and in the past there was no real tool that allowed me to do this.  Don’t get me wrong there are some really useful tools like Aaron Wall’s Seo Book Keyword Research Tool and his SEO For Firefox Tool.

What Aaron has not achieved is combining the data of both (at least publicly).

Now with the wonders of technology it appears that we are making leaps and bounds towards achieving a tool that does this all and more.  The guys at Market Samurai have come up with one of the best keyword research tools.  Now by no means does it do EVERYTHING that I would wish of it, but it’s the closest thing yet.

Project Management

You Can’t Manage What You Can’t Measure

22 October, 2008

I am sure a lot of you have heard this quote before being used in relation to Marketing and Sales:

“You Can’t Manage What You Can’t Measure”

This quote rings so true for all activities online, it’s quite possible (and cost effective) to measure almost all actions on your website.  Whether you are doing traffic trading or product sales, you must be diligent in measuring your return on investment, especially when you are buying traffic.

So, today I want to provide you with templates that we use in our business to measure our return on investment.  The first template is our daily traffic trading report template which I get each morning. It shows me the profitability of all of my trades that are active.

We call it the daily traffic trading report for a reason, it’s because every single day I want to be able to see the profitability of my trades.  I do this so that I can constantly see my results, learn from my results and improve on my results.  If you are trading please remember that one of the rules of trading was to ensure that I received your trading report every single day.

To download this report please click on the link below:

Traffic Trading Report

The second template is an internal template that we use to measure our Pay Per Click advertising for when we are building a database or selling products.  This shows the exact cost per lead/sale and Return On Investment.  This template report is a daily report which also combines to become a weekly report.  If you are selling products or building a database using Pay Per Click advertising, then I would love to receive your report daily via the forum as well.

Your Trades

16 October, 2008

Recently some people have been doing some trades and paying more then what their campaign CPC max is. The reason this is happening is because ask.com go off BOTH the campaign CPC max and also a keyword CPC max.

So, I’ve asked Matt to do a video for everybody who is setting up their own trades, so you can see what you need to do to make sure we only pay the amount that we set.

List Of Tier 2 PPC Networks

13 October, 2008

I have been looking at a lot of traffic marketing plans lately and have noticed that a lot of people are not considering advertising on the extensive Tier 2 PPC Networks that are available. Now my first thought was that it could be because you didn’t know where to look to find these other providers. So here is a list that you can start with:

- MSN
- LookSmart
- SearchFeed
- Miva
- Adbrite (yes you can sell and buy traffic here)
- Enhance
- Search 123
- Kanoodle

Also, don’t forget all of the selling networks that I gave you earlier on in my blog posts which you can also buy traffic from. To see these selling networks that I provided click here.

Keyword Density

29 September, 2008

On the weekend at our coaching day in Sydney I was talking about Search Engine Optimisation (as I always do).  Anyone who has heard me talk about SEO before would know that there are two key factors to being successful at SEO, on-page optimisation and off-page optimisation.

On the weekend I was talking about on-page optimisation and how the amount of times your keywords are repeated on your page is one of the factors that the search engines are looking for when deciding where to rank your site.  What I suggest is that you should be looking to have your keyword repeated about 5 times for every 100 words.  Now in internet marketing circles we call this a keyword density of 5%.

Instead of having to sit there and manually count how many times your keyword is repeated there is a tool designed to allow you to measure your keyword density.  I have done a quick video on how to use that tool, so just watch that video below and click on the link below that to visit the keyword density tool

Good Image Sites

29 August, 2008

I was asked last night about some good copyright free image sites.  I suppose this is a bit of an oximoron, because often if sites provide free images there are some catches and one of the major catches is that the images probably are not “great quality”.

In our office we use istock photo for all of our of images, because the images they sell are relatively inexpensive and generally very good quality,  so I don’t regularly use copyright free image galleries. With that said, below are some copyright free image sites you can check out

Another Great Example

27 August, 2008

I was doing a quick critique this morning on a website using the email eddy strategy. The page I am about to show you is a content page on the website with affiliate links on the page and is another great example of a content page.

To have a look at it head over to the link below today:

More PPC sites…

26 August, 2008

Last week I gave you my top 10 alternatives to using affiliate programs to achieve a cost per click income. This top 10 is part of my 39 favourites and over the next week or so I will be sharing my thoughts about all 39 programs:

AdAgency

This site has some requirements before you join which include existing traffic and a professional graphic design. This is great agency but probably one we will look at joining further down the track.

adBrite

Thre are no major requirements to join adBrite and it is one of the easier networks to join if you’re looking for CPC and CPM advertisers. I would suggest joining this network initially.

Advertising.com

This site has multiple revenue models for you to choose from including CPC, CPA, CPS, CPM. This is a great site to join initially because it offers a wide range of choices and will work for both advanced and beginner email eddy.

Affiliate Sensor

This site has all the same affiliate programs that clickbank offers, but they say they have a more user friendly interface.

AzoogleLeads

This site manages some bigger brands’ and search engines’ PPC programs and is a great place for you to start for both email eddy and advanced email eddy

Bid Clix

This site provides CPC advertising to you from the advertiser who bids the highest amount, rather than basing it on the keyword or specific topic of your website. Great for a strong return on investment.

AdClickCent

This site is user friendly and provides some great PPC programs for you to use on your sites.

These are just a few of the many PPC networks that I will be sharing my thoughts on over the coming weeks. Remember, if you don’t get accepted into every PPC network, don’t stress about it, you only need to be accepted into a few networks for you to be able to earn income

Some Examples For You

I have spent some time today working with a few clients on their sites and thought you might also like to take a look at their sites because they’re great examples of Email Eddy sites!

This first example is the home page of a website that has the home page ready for traffic generation. This is the affiliate landing page that I talked about at the three day training. To check it out, head over to:

www.DoWellInRealEstate.net

The second example is the home page of a website that is ready for joining PPC sites. This page will change to an affiliate landing page before we start doing traffic generation. Click on the link below to have a look at it now:
