Setting Up Your Facebook Profile

Building Your Facebook Network

Once you have set up your profile and built your network it’s time to start leveraging that network to generate traffic to your website and convert the traffic into sales. There are a few keys to success here:

1. Status Updates – A Facebook status update shows up in all of your friends facebook home page like this:

Each of those blue links in the above image go out to a website the person owns or is promoting. As you can see, a simple status update with a “cloaked” link can generate traffic across to your site. In my case, any time I am sending out a newsletter, I’ve written a new blog post or launched a website I update my status with a few words and a link.

2. Facebook Groups – Facebook groups allow you to email all the members of the groups, so setting up a group about your chosen business or area of interest will allow you to build a list of people to email. Be careful here though as you don’t want to email to often. A Facebook group email can be good to launch a product, service or new website.

3. Status Syndication – This is very similar to status updates but instead of you just doing an update you can ask other people in your network to do a status update for you. This is a great way to leverage other people and their networks to promote you and your cause.

Social Network Syndication

6 October, 2008

Recently I have been talking a lot about Social Network Syndication and if you’ve read the main forum you’ll know that Craig has sourced a great deal on outsourcing Social Network Syndication. Below is a video about what you will need to do to get this underway, if this is something you are pursuing and you will need to get this done and back to us by COB Wednesday 8th October

Social Networking Syndication

29 September, 2008

I have talked on previous teleclasses about social networking content syndication. As you may know I always say content is king and the only thing better than content is SYNDICATED content.  Anyway we have been talking about syndicating content across multiple social networking sites, in fact 200 hundred sites.

In doing this particular strategy it requires significant set up time, going across all 200 networks creating usernames and passwords and incorporating the RSS feed. (If you don’t totally understand the terminology used here ask me during our up coming coaching call)

So as I always say, we are wanting to work out ways that we can leverage ourselves out of doing the actual work and with this said Craig from the coaching program has posted a job on elance about having someone set up the usernames and passwords and also publishing the RSS feed.

Craig the awesome negotiator has been able to get this done for a total cost of $25 per person (yes this includes all 200 sites).  If you are interested in this strategy head on over to the forum link below and register your interest, because on thursday we want to start implementing this strategy
