Why Your Adwords Ads Suck

2 March, 2009

I can’t tell you how frustrating it is as an internet marketer to see SO many adwords advertisers wasting their time and money on adwords campaigns that are guaranteed to fail. Not only are they are costing their business money, but they are pushing the price of adwords up so it costs more money for everyone.

Can anyone remember the good old days when adwords was used by savvy internet marketers to gain targeted cost effective leads into their business?

Can anyone remember the good old days when advertisers engaged professionals to build and manage their campaigns?

It seems with new age businesses that people are now building and managing their own adwords campaign without any guideance or knowledge.  You have to know that by doing this all you are doing is increasing the advertising cost for other businesses and for you.

Ok, so now that I have got that out, let’s look at ways that you can become educated and actually get some results from your campaign without paying too much for traffic. Before I teach anything specific to adwords you have to understand how adwords works.  Firstly, what is adwords?  Adwords is advertising on google to get visitors to your website, as seen below:

In my next blog post I am going to teach you about the adwords algorithm, but before I do you’ll need to know the following terms:

Click Through Rate (CTR) – This is the amount of times (as a percentage) that someone clicks on your ads.  So if your ad was shown 100 times and it was clicked on 1 times that would be a CTR of 1%.

Bid – This is the amount of money you are willing to pay if someone clicks on your ad

Budget – This is your daily allocated budget, how much you are willing to spend each day on sending traffic to your website.

Relevancy – This is how similar your website text is to the advertisement that you are using to deliver traffic to your website.

Watch out for another post on adwords soon.

Things I’m Currently Working On

22 October, 2008

At the moment I am currently working on a few free traffic generation strategies for everyone, so I wanted to give you a quick update on where I’m up to…

I am submitting articles to article sites via Elance. Everyone who has sent articles through to me will be having them submitted starting on Friday.

Also I have a job on Elance for submitting websites to directories that also will be starting on Friday.
If you are yet to get me your articles, that include a short description at the top and also at the bottom of the page, please get them in to me by close of business on Thursday. The same applies with the directory submission; if I could have a Title, Description and web address by close of business Thursday please.

I am going to be submitting PR Web releases on Friday to go live on Monday 27th October at midnight. If you are yet to write a PR Web release please do so and send it to me by close of business Thursday.

Last but not least, we are getting everything together for the social networking syndication, to do this I will need to get your user names and passwords and the URL of your blog.

If you haven’t yet registered for a blog you will need to do so at www.UWCBlog.com if you don’t want to host it on your current website. If you are currently hosting the blog on your website you the feed will be www.domainname.com/blog/feed. I will need to have all of this information by close of business Thursday, so we can keep moving forward.

List Of Tier 2 PPC Networks

13 October, 2008

I have been looking at a lot of traffic marketing plans lately and have noticed that a lot of people are not considering advertising on the extensive Tier 2 PPC Networks that are available. Now my first thought was that it could be because you didn’t know where to look to find these other providers. So here is a list that you can start with:

- MSN
- LookSmart
- SearchFeed
- Miva
- Adbrite (yes you can sell and buy traffic here)
- Enhance
- Search 123
- Kanoodle

Also, don’t forget all of the selling networks that I gave you earlier on in my blog posts which you can also buy traffic from. To see these selling networks that I provided click here.

Email Eddy Next Steps

2 October, 2008

This week I have been working on cleaning up the 3 major strategies that most people in the coaching program are using.  So over the next few days I will be making ‘next steps’ posts for the email eddy strategy, traffic trading strategy and lead generation strategy.

Now as you know, the email eddy strategy is a strategy that combines free traffic generation with Pay Per Click, Pay Per Lead and Pay Per Sale affiliate marketing.  Just a quick note to people doing this strategy, please make sure that you do not use PAID traffic generation strategies when generating traffic to the landing pages on the email eddy site.  I say this for a few reasons:

  • Email eddy is designed to teach you how to generate traffic to a website using only FREE traffic generation strategies
  • Email eddy is not designed to target tradeable keywords, it is targeted at keywords that deliver lots of traffic through Search Engine Optimisation

With that said I would like to now give you some direction on what I would recommend you should be doing once you have built the initial content pages and landing pages.  Remember the content pages are designed to generate search engine traffic while the landing pages are designed to bring in income.

So, before we talk about what you should be doing moving forward there are a few quick review items that I suggest doing:

Review all the content pages that you have built using the content page recipe (if you don’t know what this is keep an eye out for more info on the blog this week) and ensure they follow the rules.  If the pages don’t follow the recipe make sure that you change the pages to follow the recipe

Review all the landing pages that you have built using the landing page recipe (if you don’t know what this is keep an eye out for more info on the blog this week) and ensure they follow the rules.  If the pages don’t follow the recipe make sure that you change the pages to follow the recipe.

Once you have done a review and clean up here are a few things you to need to be doing weekly moving forward:

  • Once a week check all links on landing pages are working and being tracked
  • Once a week log in to your affiliate marketing accounts and check your earning balance
  • Create and implement a traffic marketing plan
  • Add 10 content pages to your website per month (see if you can leverage this through your traffic marketing plan)

I hope this helps to give clarity to you if you’re doing the email eddy strategy. Keep an eye out for the next steps for the traffic trading strategy.

Social Networking Syndication

29 September, 2008

I have talked on previous teleclasses about social networking content syndication. As you may know I always say content is king and the only thing better than content is SYNDICATED content.  Anyway we have been talking about syndicating content across multiple social networking sites, in fact 200 hundred sites.

In doing this particular strategy it requires significant set up time, going across all 200 networks creating usernames and passwords and incorporating the RSS feed. (If you don’t totally understand the terminology used here ask me during our up coming coaching call)

So as I always say, we are wanting to work out ways that we can leverage ourselves out of doing the actual work and with this said Craig from the coaching program has posted a job on elance about having someone set up the usernames and passwords and also publishing the RSS feed.

Craig the awesome negotiator has been able to get this done for a total cost of $25 per person (yes this includes all 200 sites).  If you are interested in this strategy head on over to the forum link below and register your interest, because on thursday we want to start implementing this strategy
